This grade 2 listed brick built house dating from 1720 set at the end of a long drive in a gated estate of approximately 77 acres between Brentwood and Ongar. The estate, was, until recently used as a private educational establishment comprises the main listed house, converted listed stables, a large listed barn and a modern classroom building set within a listed walled garden.<br><br>The proposals are to convert the main house into 10 individual luxury apartments that respect the integrity of the original building. The stables and classroom building are converted into smaller homes with either private gardens or communal courtyard. The barn, to the north east of the site was used at a general storage area for the estate machinery and as a workshop and was in a state of degradation, this is to be converted into a substantial detached dwelling complete with private woodland. New one and a half storey dwellings are arranged to sit to the outside of the walled garden.<br><br>Contextual in design these new dwellings respect their historic setting, with open views across the parkland. Planning permission has been obtained following close consultation with the planners and conservation office and the project is now on site.
