Deep within the book stacks of Senate House in Bloomsbury, we designed a rare book and library research centre. A mezzanine gallery of minimalist design in aluminium and glass was inserted into the space. Working with artists, we developed a floor design inspired by the textbooks contained within the library. A specialist book shelving system was developed by the practice for the display of rare publications. Our design also provided specialist associated lecture spaces.
